Coming and Going. Transnational Processes between Latin America and the North.

Sonia Báez Hernández, Anadeli Bencomo, Marc Zimmerman

This collection of essays address the problem of Latin American migration to the United States from the combined perspective of migratory studies, transnational studies and cultural studies. In all it offers a wide and varied reflection on the diverse conditions and consequences of this massive mobility of subjects and cultures between Latin America and the "North," in the context of constant re-articulations linked to the dynamics unleashed by globalization. These essays, published in 2007, continue to maintain their full validity in the current environment of xenophobia, terror and fundamentalism unleashed by nationalist and neo-fascist movements worldwide.
